About VINUV
What is VINUV?
VINUV is a boutique wine brand founded by Zane and Mindy Holscher. We craft small-lot wines rooted in Argentina’s Uco Valley, built around the idea that each bottle is a new chapter—unbound by legacy and written with precision, texture, and balance in mind.
What does “VINUV” mean?
VINUV is a blend of VIN (French for “wine”) and U V—a literal nod to where our wines are born: Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina.
Where are you based?
Our vineyard is in Los Chacayes (Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina). For customer support and online orders, you can reach us by email, and we maintain an appointment-only office location in Destin, Florida.
Who are the founders?
VINUV was founded by Zane and Mindy Holscher. Our journey started during the pandemic with creative dinners and blind tastings—then turned into a real vineyard purchase and a long-term commitment to building something meant to outlive us.
Do you have a blog or behind-the-scenes story?
Yes. “Our Wine Quest” documents our early journey—from curious beginners to vineyard owners—with behind-the-scenes posts from 2020–2022. You can read it here: OurWineQuest.com
The Vineyard & Terroir
Where is the VINUV vineyard located?
Our vineyard is located in Los Chacayes (IG), Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina, about one hour south of Mendoza Airport (MDZ) and minutes west of Los Sauces.
What does “Los Chacayes IG” mean?
“IG” means Geographical Indication—a defined winegrowing region. Los Chacayes was established as an IG in 2017 and is known for varied elevations and diverse soils that support world-class grape growing.
How high is the vineyard?
3,511 feet. That high elevation (plus strong day/night temperature shifts) helps build structure, aromatics, and freshness.
What is the climate like in Uco Valley / Los Chacayes?
We sit in the Andes “rain shadow,” with roughly 12 inches of rainfall per year and about 300 sunny days. The big diurnal swing (warm days, cool nights) supports depth and complexity while helping preserve balance.
What are the soils like?
Our vines grow on an ancient riverbed with rocky, mineral-rich soils. Topsoil runs roughly 20–35 inches deep and is largely rock (about 70–80%), with the remaining volume primarily coarse sand—naturally favoring drainage and careful root development.
Do you farm sustainably?
We focus on thoughtful, sustainable vineyard management and work closely with our farming team on organic, eco-friendly methods wherever possible, because the details matter as much as the finished bottle.

What does “Vol. XXII” mean on VINUV?
VINUV uses “Volume” naming as a story-driven way to mark releases—each vintage a new chapter in the series. When you see a volume (like Vol. XXII), you’re looking at that specific release period and lineup.
